The first conference is held with a two-day programme covering food hygiene, safety and legislation
Now formally branded as the one-word Gulfood, it launches the first official logo, is extended to four days and is moved to February. The exhibition also extended to three halls to cover a net floor space of 18,000m2

Attendance reaches five figures for the first time with over 12,000 trade visitors from 71 countries

The debut of the Dubai International Food Safety Conference with Dubai Municipality
Exhibitor numbers surpass 2,600, the show occupies 50,000 square metres and attracts 37,618 trade visitors from 140 countries
The 13th edition of Gulfood sells out and the first waiting list of potential exhibitors is created
Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Finance Minister and Chairman of DWTC, opens the show and announces a new extension of DWTC that will provide one million sqft in total space
Gulfood Awards are launched
Economic Impact Report shows Gulfood generated an estimated $150.8M in total value-added impact to the Dubai economy
68,681 trade visitors flock to the show and the post-show report reveals 31% of exhibitors made more than 10% of their annual revenue across the show’s four days
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, issued a directive to expand the event to five days from 2014 onwards
