Dr. Saeed Ahmed Hama is the Head of the Food Safety Organization in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and a Certified International Food Safety Auditor (2024). He holds an MSc in Food Science and Innovation from Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), UK, and a Bachelor’s degree ( BVM ) with over a decade of experience in food safety, border inspection, and regulatory compliance. Dr. Hama’s expertise extends to chemical residue monitoring, particularly in meat, dairy, and poultry products, as well as food hygiene rating systems. He has conducted extensive research and training in food safety regulations, import risk analysis, and contamination control measures. He also has experience in food labeling, nutritional value assessment, and meat inspection, ensuring that food products meet regulatory and consumer safety standards. Additionally, Dr. Hama is well familiar with and an expert in alternative proteins, particularly their role in sustainable food systems and human health benefits. He has gained experience from leading global universities and institutions specializing in food safety and quality management, including:
